Since September 1, Jake’s Pizza has been operating out of two locations—its restaurant here in Winneconne and a new location on Main Street in Omro. Jeff and Kay Liebzeit, owners, started looking in Omro in January and found a space by June 1.“We’ve always delivered to the bridge in Omro, to that north side and once we got to know some people they’d ask, ‘Can you come further in (for deliveries)?’” said Kay Liebzeit of why they decided to expand. Since it didn’t make sense to expand the delivery zone, it did make sense to add a location. The new Omro location offers delivery and carry-out only, as the new space is not large enough to accommodate eat-in patrons. Liebzeit said it took all summer to “basically gut the space and do lots of work.” The floors were replaced, walls were redone and some new electrical and plumbing had to be run to make it usable as a pizza shop.

The response, thus far, has been great. “We employ kids from both Winneconne and Omro, so there is a mix of kids at both shops…and we can share product too. It’s great,” said Liebzeit. Kay runs the Winneconne shop and Jeff the new Omro shop.

Hours for both locations are the same, Sunday through Thursday from 4-9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 4-10 p.m. Stop by and have a slice in Omro or Winneconne!

Area pizza lovers now have another option, and this one brings the fresh baked taste right to their door. Jake’s Pizza is now on Main St. in Omro, a second location for owner/operators Jeff and Kay Liebzeit, with ready-to-bake or baked pizzas, appetizers and more available for pick up or delivery. Jeff and Kay Liebzeit opened their first Jake’s Pizza at 115 W. Main St. in Winneconne in April of 2004. In addition to delivery and pickup of fresh or baked pizzas, they also have a dine-in option there. They delivered south of Winneconne as far as the Fox River, but were often requested to make deliveries to the other side of the bridge in Omro. “We saw there was a market for it,” Kay said. Now they’re able to split the distance north of the Fox River between the Winneconne and Omro locations and from Omro they deliver east to Sandpit Rd., west to County K, and south to Highway 91. Jake’s Pizza has been a good fit for the community. “We’ve been really happy with what’s gone on so far,” Jeff said. “We’re having fun.”What makes Jake’s Pizza a great choice? “We don’t skimp on anything. We make the pizzas as we would like them,” Kay said. They strive to make fresh, high quality food at the most reasonable price they can manage. “We like to think our personal service is a little better than you can get other places,” Kay added. Jeff has a degree in food science technology, and he’s also certified in industrial refrigeration and as a cheese plant manager. He’s even a licensed cheese-maker — and Kay said all of things give him a great background for the pizza business, but he’d probably say the most important experience he brings is the years he delivered for Domino’s while in college. Kay has a business degree and marketing background, and she’s also a kitchen designer.Jake’s Pizza makes fresh or baked pizzas with thin, medium or thick crusts. Specialty combo pizzas include the tuna melt (white sauce, tuna, onions, cheddar cheese, black olives and black pepper), Greek Gladiator (mozzarella and feta cheese with sausage, fresh or canned mushrooms, black and green olives) and barbecue chicken (Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce base, mozzarella cheese and chicken, topped off with a drizzle of BBQ sauce). Of course customers can mix and match from the huge selection of meats, fish, vegetables and sauces.

Dinners delivered every day of the week are beer battered haddock, four-piece chicken, Jake’s Canadian pike, chicken tenders, BBQ ribs and shrimp, all including a choice of potato. Other menu selections are deep fried ravioli, mac n’ cheese bites, cheese nuggets, mozzarella logs, chicken nuggets, jalapeno poppers, nachos with cheese sauce, and chicken wings. Add french fries, potato wedges, baby baked potatoes or loaded potato bites to your order, or compliment your meal with bread sticks or garlic bread, plain, topped with mozzarella, or loaded with cheese and bacon pieces.

Jake’s Pizza can also be there for special events like birthday parties, baby showers, graduations, retirements, sporting events or family gatherings, even outside of their regularly scheduled hours.

Jeff reminds those requesting delivery should light up their house and double check that their house number is clearly visible.
